There are several ways to keep your RV cool or ventilated. The cheapest way is with the standard crank open roof vents. Most RVs today are built with a 14″ x 14″ crank open vent in the roof. A better way to ventilate your RV. Would be a powered roof vent.

The gas used in RV’s is stored in a liquid form. It is the vapor from propane that burns. It is heavier than air. (Which is why leak detectors are located near the floor). Propane is colorless, during manufacturing it is “odorized” for easy detection. Approximately 91,500 BTU are contained in one gallon of LP.

RV Electrical Systems Explained

Basically RVs use 2 types of electrical systems. 110v’s AC like in your house. And 12v DC like in your car. The 110v outlets in your RV will supply power to your household appliances and TVs etc. This system only works when you plug the trailers or motorhome shore cord into an outlet at the campground or at your house. These cords can be 30 amp or 50 amps depending on the amperage draw of your RV. 30 amp is the average RV.
